Dean's Message

Reflecting on the past year and global events, I want to acknowledge that it brought trying times, deeply impacting many members of our community. Throughout, our students, faculty, staff and alumni have demonstrated compassion and dedication to the well-being of others. We are so fortunate that ours is an extraordinary, resilient community of teaching and learning. It is the hallmark of U of T Law. Throughout our history, we have pushed boundaries, vigorously debated and challenged ourselves to be at the forefront of Canadian legal education by leading with and through integrity, inclusion, empathy and excellence.

Looking ahead to 2024, I know that our U of T Law community and its members will continue to achieve amazing things. May this coming year also bring personal fulfillment, joy and intellectual growth for you all.

Warmest thanks and heartfelt appreciation,

Jutta Brunnée
Dean, University Professor and James Marshall Tory Dean’s Chair
